This is a quick tutorial on how I do my makeup everyday for work. I use the same 4 step formula for my eyeshadows and then just switch it up with different colours for a bit of variety throughout the week. The four steps are:
1. Apply matte brown shadow to your crease
2. Apply darker shadow to outer corner of eyelid
3. Apply a highlighter underneath the brow bone
4. Pat a shimmery (or satin) shadow on the inner 2/3's of your eyelid
I finish up with liner and mascara. I like this look because it is fast, office appropriate, and still pretty and polished! Hope you guys enjoy (please see below for my suggestions for different colour/brand options)!

I recently watched Sex and the City 2 for the third or fourth time.....and although it's not my favorite in the series, the ladies never fail to have amazing outfits, hair, and makeup!!! I was particularly struck by the scene where Carrie dolls herself up to go and meet Aidan for dinner...her eye makeup is very sultry - it's kind of smoky eyes meets Arabic eyes. It's a very dramatic, yet sophisticated look. I decided to recreate it using inexpensive products. I actually tracked down the eyeliner Carrie buys when she's at the souq in Abu Dhabi - it's Blue Heaven Kajal Black Eyeliner and its manufactured in India. I ordered a package of 6 for $7 (including S&H) off eBay! I am very impressed with it - it glides on smoothly and is super pigmented. It has excellent staying power when applied to the waterline, but be warned it is pretty smudgey!
I finally had a chance to put together Part II and I apologize for taking so long!! As I mentioned in the last video, this time I recommend some products that are dynamite for evening/dramatic looks. Coming up with recommendations was a bit more challenging as these are the looks to really experiment and everyone just has different tastes/preferences. Anywho, hope you enjoy and if some of these colors aren't to your taste then perhaps you'll just have to head down to MAC and see what jumps out at you!!
Products Mentioned
Eyeshadows:
1. Carbon (perfect for smoking out the outer corner of your eye or as a dramatic shadow)
2. Knight Divine (use with any colour to create a smoky eye - pop it right under your crease or also use to smoke out outer corner of your eye)
3. Contrast (love this color for a navy smoky - pat all over your eyelid with a shader brush)
4. Satin Taupe a.k.a. Satan's Toupee (pat all over your eyelid with a shader brush. for a more dramatic look, apply Constructivist paint pot first)
5. Parfait Amour (I use this on a purple smoky eye and usually blend it with a darker purple or use it in combination with neutral shadows for a pop of colour)
Other Products:
1. Blackground Paintpot (use as a base under your smoky eye - apply to entire lid with finger or blending brush)
2. Constructivist Paintpot (see above....also looks great with colours like woodwinked, twinks, and tempting...)
3. Blacktrack Fluidline (apply to upper lashline and waterline line using an angle brush)
4. Myth lipstick (I usually top this lipstick off with NYX's Megashine Lipgloss in "Crystal" or "Sweetheart")
As I was doing my friend, Bohdana's makeup for New Year's Eve, she mentioned to me that she would love to shop at MAC, but feels really overwhelmed and doesn't know where to begin. I figured there are more of you ladies out there who don't really know where to start when it comes to purchasing MAC products so I put together this two part series on top MAC products.
In this part, I talk about what I think are the best products for everyday use. All the shadows I mention are basic neutrals that work great if you work in a professional environment (like me). The other products I mention go a long way in pulling the rest of your look together....Hope this helps and stay tuned for Part II!!

I received some really awesome beauty-related products for Christmas so I thought I would share with you guys why I love them so much!! (I guess the loose powder is technically a present from myself!!)
Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved playing with make-up and just having fun with it! It has become such an addiction that I finally thought I'd share my advice and ideas!
